About this opportunity
The company, led by seasoned rail and shipping executives, will create a short line railroad that connects, via BNSF, with the Ports of Seattle and Tacoma. Looking for $105,000,000 USD to complete our business plan with $50,000,000 in capital invested and the land wholly owned, that will be cost competitive with existing options in the Willamette Valley. We have established significant offtake agreements and found a deficiency in the amount rail assets to move the cargo and have agreed to purchase 6 new locomotives and 220 rail cars to service our Intermodal facility. The market research identifies shippers who will support annual exports of over 40,000 forty-foot containers. We expect to bring in 25,000 loaded import containers per year. These will be supplemented by repositioning of 15,000 empty containers per year from Seattle and Tacoma. As Oregon is a net-export state, we ware working with ocean carriers to develop a match-back service to bring in those empty containers. Our intermodal facility in Woodburn is 20 miles north of Salem and 20 miles south of Portland. This facility is located within one mile of the Woodburn interchange with I-5 and is immediately adjacent to the PNWR main line. We have been solidifying agreements with over 20 shippers, who export over 40,000-ft containers a year (80,000 TEUs a year), who wish to use an intermodal facility to connect by rail to the docks in Seattle and Tacoma. We are will be associated with a large West Coast rail and shipping company to partner up with that will streamline our billing, cash flow, and logistics. Amazon has purchased the property adjacent to us to establish a West Coast Fulfilment Center. Amazon has purchased the land adjacent to our facility & currently building a large fulfilment center. An insurance wrap product is available.
