About this opportunity
Company formed in 2003 in Brazil has two active mining licences for Rare Earth Elements (REEs) and Diamonds. To date USD 12m has been spent on one of the mines and the company is focussing on early cashflow from this which is the purpose of this initial funding. Of the overall investment of USD 146m, USD 46m will allow the mine to commence production almost immediately with the REEs and Diamonds having secured LOIs from strong companies for all the output. REEs are in such demand globally from renewable enterprises, defence industries and electric vehicle manufacturers: the REE market is dominated by China. All of the REEs are on the USA's list of Critical Minerals issued recently by the Treasury.
Revenue from the mine is USD 1.3bn over 10 years with an IRR of 67% and an NPV of USD 234m.
